It’s been a while since I’ve written, and let’s be honest: life has been happening. I have a lot to share. Let’s start with the good news: I have successfully kept off most of the weight. The bad news is that I have gained 15 to 20 lbs. At first, I was disappointed in myself, especially how I gained the weight. I started eating my favorite childhood cereals: Fruit Loops, Frosted Flakes, and Honeycombs.
Other than that, everything else hasn’t changed. At first, I was going to go back on Ozempic, but that was nothing but a quick fix. I will lose all the weight and then some, but then what? I can’t continue a yo-yo diet; it’s not good, especially at my age.
I believe in alternative medicine. I have used it before, and it has worked for me. For example, I had a horrible toothache and have used peppermint for over a year. When I finally went to the dentist, the tooth looked so bad, and they wondered how I was able to function with that type of pain. That was thanks to my peppermint oil, which I would sniff when it started bothering me.
I decided to find natural products that will help with the craving and that are more reasonable than a weight loss clinic. Because I know that it works, but it’s also expensive. Here is the hypocrisy of health insurance. They will pay up to 80% of a gastric bypass, but won’t help with a weight loss clinic that will help you learn how to eat and hopefully keep the weight off. Truly fascinating.
My quest is to find stuff that works and won’t break your bank. That part is really important to me. I started researching a few different drinks that help with cravings, belly fat, and keeping you going. I have been trying them, and so far, so good. I will be doing separate blogs about them, including the TikTok sensation Yerba Magic. They call it the natural Ozempic, and I will also write a new blog about that because it deserves its blog.
I also decided to fine-tune my workout. I wasn’t happy with the workouts, and I feel that with my workouts, I had too many irons in the fire. I decided to simplify everything, and I decided to throw out all of my YouTube playlists. I keep my workout under the Save For Later section, a mixture of Indoor Walking, cardio & strength workouts. I kept the LWR (Lucy Wyndham Read) playlist, My Fiton app workout, Cathe app, and different yoga classes because stretching is so important. My mini-steppers and I added a new playlist, Step With Bird. There are only five workouts that are under fifteen minutes. Each playlist or app gets two weeks and four times each workout. Simplifying my workouts has really helped me with staying organized because I have not brought my A game. Although we are halfway through 2025, I finally feel I am back on the right track.
Love,
DSM💜
